国立国楽院は韓国の伝統国楽を継承し発展させるために作られた機関で、新羅時代以後から伝わる宮中音楽機関にその起源を置いています。各種公演をはじめとした学術研究や国楽教育、海外教育などを通し、国民と共に歩む国楽、世界の中の国楽を追求しています。2つの室内公演場と1つの野外公演場の計3つの公演場があります。韓国最大の国楽専用の室内公演場である礼楽堂の外観は、水原城の形をイメージして設計されており、内部は伝統的な演奏空間の特性を生かし、すべての国楽の公演に合うように建てられているので、宮中音楽や呈才（朝鮮時代、宮中の宴会で行われた歌舞）など、あらゆるジャンルの韓国の伝統芸術や唱劇ような大型公演も可能です。舞台と客席は伝統的な演奏公演が行われたマダン（庭）をイメージして作られており、客席も土蔵の模様の間で区切られています。天井には凧模様の放射版があるので、公演場全体がまるで韓国の昔の家屋のようです。礼楽堂の2階には託児所があるため、静かに落ち着いて公演を観賞をすることができます。もう1つの室内公演場ウミョン堂は、屋外で行われる公演を室内でも行われるように設計されており、必要に応じて広さを調節することができるようになっています。また、隣接する国楽博物館では、様々な関連資料を閲覧できるほか、伝統楽器など国楽関連の映像などが見られます。さらに、入り口横の資料販売室では、国楽関連の音楽資料やCDやテ―プなども販売されています。

光州広域市立美術館は1992年 8月 1日に地方の公立美術館として初めて開館しました。1996年規模を拡大改編して光州ビエンナーレを管掌しています。光州広域市と全羅南道地域に縁故を置いたホ・ペクリョン、オ・ジホ、ヤン・スア、イム・ジクスンなど有名故作家の作品から現在活動している作家の作品に至るまで約 560点の作品を所蔵しています。市立美術館の主要事業は企画事業を基盤とし、様々な文化プログラムを通じた教育事業と地域美術の活性化などの事業にも力を注いでいます。

国立アジア文化殿堂は創作、展示、公演活動などアジアの文化をテーマにした複合文化施設です。広場、展示館、公演会場、図書館などの主要施設があり、2015年夏季ユニバーシアード光州大会の開催期間に合わせて一部施設をオープンします。展示施設のオープンは2015年9月を予定しています。アジアの文化と情報通信技術が結合した文化都市光州として飛躍しようとしています。

瑞草区盤浦洞にあるこの公園はもともとアカシアの木が生い茂っていた山でしたが、2000年にソウル特別市上水道事業本部が盤浦地域に円滑な水道水の供給のため、排水地工事を施行することによって瑞草区ではソウル特別市との協議を通して住民達に休息空間を提供するために「モンマルトル公園」を造りました。近郊にあるソレマウルにはフランス人たちが多く居住していおり、この地域の入口の道をモンマルトル路と呼ばれていたため、この公園の名前を「モンマルトル公園」としました。 * 面積：24,690平方メートル * 公園面積：20,054平方メートル

2010年11月6日にオープンした御真（オジン）博物館は地上1階、地下1階、延面積1,193.71㎡で、慶基殿と太祖御真（李成桂の肖像画）を中心とした展示を行っています。1階には太祖御真と新しく模写された6人の御真（世宗、英祖、正祖、哲宗、高宗、純宗）が展示されています。その他に展示空間としては歴史室、輿車室、企画展示室があり、休憩スペースや遺物を保管するための収蔵庫施設もあります。
